Enola — Review

“Morgan Freeman parkeert zich in het midden van het kruispunt tussen hardbop en freejazz, gewapend met een resem technieken ter ontsporing en relativering. Kwieke wendingen, moddervette grooves en knappe unisone lijnen gaan hand in hand met stuiptrekkend en zelfrelativerend stuntwerk.” – Guy Peters, Enola Magazine

Freistil — review

“It’s not the world famous actor, it’s a Jazz quartet from Amsterdam that works with a modern vocabulary on improvisation themes, creates moods in a highly concentrated form, makes sequences comprehensible, lets the listener be part of the creation of the music pieces, doesn’t present a final version but rather the creative process itself, shows the becoming and lets the difficulty of such an endeavor swing with the music. Interesting! The colorful quartet from Lithuania, USA and the Netherlands learned their musical lessons in Holland. Maybe that is the basis of this sympathetic work ethic regarding genres changing between punk-attitude and free music. Hopefully there will be more to hear from this band Morgan Freeman, as mentioned already not the actor, the band.”  — Freistil
